1. Baked treats

This recipe is absolutely great for having a stash of treats you already know your dog loves. They come in handy for training sessions since you can prepare them in small pieces and in any shape you want. Sweet potatoes treats for dogs might take a little more time to prepare than other recipes, but they sure do have their benefits!

Supplies
  • 2/3 sweet potatoes
  • Sharp knife
  • Oven tray
  • Oven
  • Non-stick baking paper
Step by step
  • Peel the sweet potatoes
  • Cut the sweet potatoes in any shape and size you feel is the best for your dog (small dice, thin slices or even sticks).
  • Place the chopped sweet potatoes on the non-stick baking paper over the oven tray
  • Bake them for approximately 2 to 3 hours at 200 C°
  • Let them cool out before giving some of them to your dog

If you want the end result to be soft and chewy treats, leave them for a shorter time in the oven. The longer they are being cooked, the crunchier they’ll get.

You can store them in an airtight container. Crunchy treats tend to last longer than the more chewy ones. The first one can last up to three weeks, while the later can last only a few days.
