Dog for adoption

Hi! My name is Cornbread!

I’m a 63 pound, 9-year-old Pit Bull-Labrador mix and I’m placed up for adoption. I know I may seem old and even have some gray hair, but I’m as excited as a puppy when there are new people around! People are my best friends. Other dogs are okay, and I get along with them just fine on walks, but my alone time is very important to me.

I’m not cranky or antisocial, I’m a lone wolf! Or, a lone Pit-Lab. No packmates for me, thanks! If you’ve ever had a roommate who gets too loud or too rough, you’ll understand! People, though? People are great! They can give hugs and rub the good spots, they take you on walks and on car rides, and sometimes they take naps with you, too. That’s always nice, especially after a big day of exploring.

My dream life

If I had a human of my own, I would want to be the center of attention all the time. No other dogs or people, just man and his best friend! Our ideal day would start with breakfast and maybe some snuggle time. Then, we’d get in the car and go for a drive to a place I’ve never been before! We’d go on a nice, long walk there where I could meet new people and see new things… Then we’d have lunch.

But we’d have to go home afterward (in the car because cars are fun) and take a nap. Well, my human doesn’t have to; they can watch tv or something else humans do at home. Me? I’d be napping on a big, warm bed with a squishy pillow and a soft blanket… Beds are just as important to me as they are to you humans, you know!

Adoption can change my future

But I hope I really can get a human of my own soon, adoption would change my life. I’ve been here for a long time; a nice man brought me to this shelter in February! I think I’ve been here for so long because some people don’t like Pit Bulls. Well, don’t worry! I’m not mean or scary!

I even try my hardest to get people to like me! I’m housetrained, leash trained, and I even know a few commands! The humans here want me to find a home, too, so I’ve also been neutered, fully vaccinated, and I have a microchip in case I explore too far!
